How Much Does a Professional Wix Website Cost? (2026)

Ask ten agencies what a website costs and you'll get ten versions of "it depends," a contact form, and a follow-up call you didn't ask for. We get why. Publishing prices is uncomfortable. But cost is the biggest reason small businesses put off having a site at all: among businesses still without one, 26% name cost as the main reason (Zippia data, via Wix). So this post does the uncomfortable thing. Below is what the market charges for Wix work in 2026, from Fiverr gigs up to big generic agencies, followed by our own price list, line by line. If you finish reading and realize you don't need us yet, that's a perfectly good outcome.
What does a Wix website cost in 2026?
Anywhere from $0, if you build it yourself on Wix's free plan, to $75,000 for a full-service agency engagement. Most professional small-business projects land between $2,000 and $10,000. The spread isn't random. It tracks who does the work, how much strategy comes with it, and how custom the build gets.
The market in one table, with a source behind every number:
Who builds it | Typical 2026 price | What that buys you |
You, on Wix | $0 on the free plan, or $17–$159/month for premium plans billed annually | Your own time, plus templates, the Harmony AI builder, hosting, and SSL |
Fiverr & Upwork freelancers | Basic sites $300–$500; custom or e-commerce builds $1,000–$3,000; Upwork Wix developers average $15–$34/hour
Boutique Wix agencies (that's us) | Strategy, custom design, an SEO-safe build, a team you can call
Other web agencies | Multi-platform teams, project managers, enterprise process |

A few calibration points from outside our shop. Forbes-cited data puts the average small-business website at $2,000–$9,000 when a designer or agency builds it. GoodFirms surveyed 200+ designers and landed on roughly $3,200 for a basic small-business site, with 35.1% of designers quoting $1,000–$1,500. And DesignRush now lists 3,729 Wix companies, with its top 50 Wix agencies averaging $77 an hour.
So why such a wide range? Because each tier sells something different. At $300 you're buying execution: someone placing your content into a template, full stop. At $449–$1,500, verified Marketplace partners sell tightly scoped, productized work, and they're good at it. At $2,000–$10,000 you're paying for strategy, custom design, and accountability. At $75,000 you're mostly paying for headcount and process, which makes sense for an enterprise and is overkill for a six-page business site.
What do our prices include?
Our two core packages are a classic Wix Editor website from $3,000, delivered in about 30 business days, and a Wix Studio website from $5,000, delivered in up to 60 business days. Both are fixed prices agreed before we start, with no hidden hourly extras, and you keep full ownership of your site and Wix account.
Our full published price list, the same numbers can be found on our services page:
Service | Starting price | Timeline |
Wix Studio website | $5,000 | Up to 60 business days |
Classic Wix Editor website | $3,000 | About 30 business days |
Wix Rescue & site fixes | $2,000 (or $150/hour) | 7–14 business days |
Website migration | $1,500 | Quoted per project |
Velo custom coding | $600 | 3–7 business days |
Mobile website optimization | $400 | Quoted per project |
Wix training | $400 | One 2-hour session |
$499/month | Ongoing |
What sits inside the two flagship numbers: the $5,000 Studio package covers a 4–6 page custom site, a strategy meeting, mobile optimization, advanced app setup (up to 10 items), domain installation, blog setup, social links, and a custom 404 page. The $3,000 classic Editor package covers a 1–6 page site with a strategy meeting, mobile optimization, domain setup, a blog, and social integration. Everything is built in-house by our team, and most projects wrap in two to six weeks. You can see what those budgets turn into on our work page.
The $2,000 gap between the packages is mostly a question of which editor your site belongs in, and that depends on how complex the site will get over the next couple of years. We walked through that choice, CMS and responsive control included, in our Studio-versus-Editor comparison.
If you're comparing hourly quotes instead, this is how the work maps in our shop: simple websites run $50–$100/hour, projects with coding $100–$200/hour, and large projects $200–$500/hour. We quote fixed because you shouldn't have to gamble on the meter. The number we agree on is the number you pay.
Not sure which package fits, or whether you need one at all? Ask us on a free strategy call and we'll say so.
What drives the price up or down?
Five things move a Wix quote more than anything else: page count, custom functionality, e-commerce, how ready your content is, and whether you're switching platforms. Fonts and color palettes barely register. Scope is what you pay for.
Pages. Our standard packages cover up to six pages. A 15-page site means more design, more content, and more SEO structure, so it gets scoped as its own project.
Custom features. Wix handles a remarkable amount out of the box, but booking logic, dashboards, gated member areas, and third-party integrations mean custom Velo code, which starts at $600 with us. Integrations add up fast, too. One 2026 pricing guide found a site with five integrations costs 20–35% more than the same site without them.
E-commerce. Products, payments, shipping, tax, and email flows all add build time, and stores usually need a higher-tier Wix plan plus paid apps.
Content readiness. Having your copy and photos ready saves real money. Professional copywriting adds $2,000–$4,000 for a small site per WebFX, and Orbix puts copy for a 20-page site at $3,000–$10,000. Showing up with a tidy content folder is the cheapest way to shrink a quote.
Migration. Switching platforms mid-redesign adds $3,000–$15,000 at typical agencies. Ours start at $1,500 for straightforward moves and climb with URL counts and redirect complexity, since that's where your rankings are kept or lost. One move nobody can sell you yet: Wix doesn't support converting an existing Editor site into Harmony, so a Harmony site is always a fresh build. Our Harmony explainer has the rest of its current gap list.
When is DIY the right call?
More often than agency blogs tend to admit. If you're pre-revenue, testing an idea, or need a clean one-pager with your story, hours, and a contact form, build it yourself. Wix Harmony, the AI builder Wix launched in January, is included in every Wix plan, and one 2026 review had a publishable Wix AI site in under 30 minutes, hosting and SSL included.
We mean that recommendation. The $3,000 you don't spend on design can go into inventory, ads, or rent while you find out whether the business works.
AI drafts do hit a ceiling, and it tends to show up in the same places: copy that could belong to anyone, stock-looking images, calls to action in the wrong spot, and anything custom. We mapped each of those in our look at how far an AI-built site can take you, and it matches what lands on our desk in rescue projects.
Our rule of thumb: DIY when your site's job is to exist. Bring in help when its job is to sell, meaning you're paying to drive traffic to it, competing for rankings, or asking it to close clients while you sleep. If you DIY now, keep your text and photos organized as you go, because it makes the eventual professional build noticeably cheaper (see content readiness, above). When you're growing, come back. We'll still be here.
What will you keep paying after launch?
Your Wix plan, any paid apps, and whatever optional help or AI tools you choose to add. Forbes-cited data puts typical small-business site maintenance around $1,200 a year. On Wix, the recurring pieces look like this:
Ongoing cost | Typical price | Who needs it |
Wix premium plan (classic Editor and Harmony sites) | $17–$159/month, billed annually | Anyone who wants their own domain, no Wix ads, or online payments |
Wix Studio plan | Sites built in Wix Studio
Paid apps | Varies by app | Stores, bookings, advanced forms |
Symphony by Wix (optional) | Free tier, or $20, $50, or $100/month billed annually | Businesses handing marketing and follow-up to AI agents |
SEO help (optional) | Our packages from $499/month | Businesses competing in Google and AI search |
Two things worth knowing before you settle on the free plan for good. First, Wix's NLWeb integration, which lets a customer's AI assistant query your site directly, needs an upgraded site and a connected domain. Our NLWeb setup guide covers the switch. Second, Symphony's credit-based plans work whether or not your site is on Wix, so budget for it as a business tool rather than part of the website.
What are the red flags in a cheap quote?
Plenty of low quotes are fine. 35.1% of designers price basic sites at $1,000–$1,500, and many of them do solid work at that number. The warning signs tend to sit in what surrounds the number.
Watch for these:
No written scope. "Website: $800" tells you nothing about pages, revisions, mobile work, or SEO setup. Vague scope is how a cheap fixed price turns into an expensive hourly one.
The site isn't built in your account. If the freelancer owns the Wix account, they own your website. A professional builds in your account or hands it over completely. You should never have to rent your own site back.
No redirect plan on a redesign or migration. Most redesigns lose organic traffic in the first 90 days, largely because nobody mapped the 301 redirects. Anyone rebuilding an existing site should bring up redirects before mockups.
A template flip sold as custom. Template work at template prices is perfectly fair. At custom prices, less so.
No verifiable reviews. Every Wix Marketplace partner profile shows review counts and completed projects. Ours sits at a 5.0 rating across 406 reviews on the Wix Marketplace, so "trust me" screenshots aren't your only option.
Guaranteed rankings, on Google or in AI answers. Nobody can promise those, us included. AI answers are especially slippery: one July 2026 audit asked the same "best in Minneapolis" question five times in a row and got between 22 and 77 different company names, depending on the industry and engine. What does move the odds is laid out in our breakdown of how AI engines choose which businesses to cite.
One last thing about cheap that looks cheap: 75% of people judge a company's credibility by its website design (Stanford research). If the site turns visitors away, the $1,500 you saved is already spent.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Why does a Wix Studio website cost more than a classic Editor site?
A: Scope and platform. Our Studio package is a deeper build: advanced app setup for up to 10 items, a custom 404 page, and up to 60 business days of work versus about 30. Studio sites also run on their own plan family. If your site is set to grow, Studio is worth the difference. For a clean, simple presence, the classic Editor does the job for $2,000 less.
Q: Is building with Wix Harmony cheaper than hiring a designer?
A: Up front, yes. Harmony costs nothing beyond your Wix plan. What you trade is your own time plus the current gaps: per Wix's Help Center, Harmony doesn't yet support the CMS or Multilingual apps, and existing Editor sites can't move into it. Plenty of owners launch in Harmony and bring in help once the site starts bringing in sales.
Q: Can you fix my existing Wix site instead of rebuilding it?
A: Very often, yes, and it's usually the cheaper path. Our Wix Rescue service starts at $2,000 (with a $150/hour option) and runs 7–14 business days: a site audit, mobile optimization, and a strategy meeting for sites up to six pages. We only recommend a full rebuild when a rescue can't get you where you're going.
Q: Do I own my website when you're done?
A: Completely. The site lives in your Wix account, and you keep full ownership of the account, the site, your domain, and your content. The price we agree on up front is the price you pay, with no hourly surprises and no dependency on us to keep your own website running.
What should you do next?
Get a real number for your own project, free. Share your site (or just the idea) and we'll place you in one of these price bands, including "the DIY one, come back later" if that's the truth. Ten years and 494 Wix projects in, we've found the simplest way to keep a 5.0 rating across 406 reviews is to not sell people things they don't need.
Send us your project for a free evaluation, or call 928-821-6780. Whatever we quote, it'll be a price you saw coming.
