Wix has shipped three sizable AI launches in 2026, and Harmony is the one that changes how your website is built in the first place. You describe the site you want, watch it assemble itself, then grab the mouse and move things around the way you always have in Wix.

We build client sites in the classic Editor, Wix Studio, and Wix Harmony every week. This is our working answer to the questions clients keep bringing to strategy calls: what Harmony actually is, what it still can't do, and which of the three Wix builders your business should be using.

What is Wix Harmony?

Wix Harmony is an AI website builder that pairs natural-language prompting with full drag-and-drop control, launched by Wix on January 21, 2026. You prompt your way to a first draft, then refine it visually, moving between the two modes as often as you like.

At the center sits Aria, Wix's AI agent, running continuously rather than generating once and stepping aside. Per the launch announcement, Aria understands your site's context and can handle small jobs (swap the color palette) or large ones (redesign a page, add commerce) while keeping the underlying code stable, so a change in one corner doesn't break something three pages away. Wix CEO Avishai Abrahami put the ambition this way: "Now anyone can create a beautiful website, design easily with prompts and natural language without sacrificing scalability, security, reliability and performance."

That last clause is the real pitch. Standalone vibe-coding tools are famous for demos that dazzle and then wobble the minute actual customers show up. Harmony's bet is that running on Wix's infrastructure, the hosting and payments and scheduling and accessibility monitoring, turns AI-generated sites into working business sites rather than prototypes. Whether you buy the pitch probably depends on how your last experiment with a pure vibe-coding tool went.

Pricing is the simple part. Harmony carries no separate subscription. Wix says the editor "is included in every Wix plan, including the free forever plan", with paid tiers at $17 (Light), $29 (Core), $39 (Business), and $159 (Business Elite) per month on annual billing.

Where does Harmony fit with Symphony and NLWeb?

Harmony is one of three AI launches Wix has shipped this year, and they do different jobs. Harmony builds the site. NLWeb makes the finished site readable by outside AI agents. Symphony puts AI agents to work on the business behind the site. Taken in that order, they describe a full arc: build it, publish it so machines can find it, then hand off some of the follow-up.

The seams between them are worth knowing before you plan around any of it. Symphony works with any business, on Wix or not, so your builder choice doesn't limit it either way. NLWeb is fussier. It needs an upgraded site with a connected domain, and it answers agent queries out of your structured data, which means your product details, business basics, and FAQ content do most of the talking.

One thing none of the three does is get your business found. Which editor built your pages has no bearing on whether ChatGPT or Google's AI Overviews ever name you; that comes down to what your pages say, how current they are, and what other sites say about you. How does Harmony compare to the classic Editor and Wix Studio?

Each of the three builders was made for a different person. Harmony suits someone starting fresh who wants AI to carry the layout work, the classic Editor suits owners who want simple hands-on control, and Studio is built for professionals who need precision at scale. Side by side:

The CMS row is the one that decides most projects, and we come back to it below. The pricing row matters less than people expect but still matters: Harmony and the classic Editor both run on regular Wix plans, while Studio has its own plan family, so the builder choice carries a small billing consequence alongside the design one.

The Editor-versus-Studio half of this decision is big enough to deserve its own post. Broadly, Studio pays for itself once a site has moving parts, and the classic Editor is the right tool, not a lesser one, for most straightforward service businesses.

What can't Harmony do yet?

Wix now publishes the gap list itself, which is a welcome change from reading tea leaves in reviews. Per the Wix Help Center, Harmony "includes most of the elements and apps that you know from the Wix Editor," and these are the pieces still in development:

Wix apps not yet supported: CMS, Donations, Hotels, Music, Multilingual, and Referral Programs.
Design elements not yet supported: accordions, audio player, hover state customization, glass effect, tabs, and text mask.
No migration path. In Wix's own words, "it is not possible to migrate an existing site from Wix Editor to the Wix Harmony Editor."

That list has shrunk since spring, which tells you something about the pace.

Still, the CMS absence is the one that changes real decisions. If your site needs a growing blog, a directory, a team page that pulls from a collection, or anything else driven by dynamic content, Harmony isn't ready to be its home yet. A third-party workaround has appeared in the meantime: CMS for Harmony, built by The Wix Wiz, adds collections, forms, repeaters, and search to Harmony sites, with a free plan and a $1.49/month supporter tier. It's a third-party app rather than a Wix product, so treat it the way you'd treat any plugin holding up something important, but it's real and it works.

The missing migration path is the one that surprises people most. If you already have a Wix site you like, moving it into Harmony means rebuilding it, and nobody should rebuild a working site to say it was made with AI. Your visitors can't tell and wouldn't care. What they do respond to is the site itself: 75% of people judge a company's credibility by its website design (Stanford research), and they form that judgment in roughly 0.05 seconds. No visitor has ever bounced because a layout was assembled by hand.

It's also worth separating Harmony from its cousin. Base44, the vibe-coding platform Wix acquired in June 2025, builds full custom web applications and now runs on Base1, its own large language model, a first among app-creation platforms per Wix's Q2 2026 results. Harmony builds websites. If your project sounds more like "an app with accounts and logic" than "a site with pages," Base44 is the relevant tool, and that's a different conversation (one we're glad to have, since our Velo and custom-code work starts at $600).

Which builder should your business pick in 2026?

Start from the site you need, not the technology you're curious about. How we'd sort it on a strategy call:

Pick Harmony if you're launching something new, simple, and soon: a service page, a portfolio, an early storefront. It's the fastest zero-to-published path Wix has ever shipped, the free plan means you can try it this afternoon, and the drag-and-drop layer means you aren't stuck with whatever the AI guessed.
Pick the classic Editor if you want a straightforward site you'll maintain yourself, with full manual control and the complete app ecosystem behind you. Our Classic builds start at $3,000.
Pick Wix Studio if the site has real complexity: growing content collections, custom e-commerce, per-breakpoint design standards, a brand that can't look templated. That's where most of our client work lives (Studio builds from $5,000), and it's what projects at the scale of Nitrocross require.
Stay put if you have a working Editor site and mild curiosity. There's no conversion path, and rebuilding a healthy site for novelty is a cost with no customer on the other end of it.

A pattern we expect to see plenty of this year: businesses launch fast in Harmony, grow, then hit the CMS and multilingual ceiling and move into Studio. Launch quickly, upgrade when the site starts making money. The tools changed; that sequencing advice didn't.

Q: Can I convert my existing Wix site to Harmony?

Q: Can a Harmony site show up in ChatGPT and AI Overviews?

A: Your editor isn't the deciding factor. Wix server-renders pages regardless of which builder made them, so AI crawlers can read the HTML either way, and what earns citations is answer-first content, freshness, and mentions on sites you don't own. One caveat specific to Harmony: without the CMS, a growing blog is harder to run inside it, and blogging is one of the more reliable ways to keep a site fresh enough to get quoted.

Our honest take

Harmony is real progress, and version one at the same time. Prompt-driven building with a hand-editable result, on infrastructure that can carry an actual business, is a meaningful thing to have shipped in 2026. The gap list is also still long enough to rule Harmony out for plenty of projects, and Wix is candid about that in its own documentation, which we appreciate.

Use it to launch something new and simple. Use the Editor or Studio when the site has heavy lifting to do. Whichever builder wins, the parts that decide whether a site performs, structure and speed and clarity and trust, still get settled by the people in the room.
