What Is Symphony by Wix?

Symphony by Wix is Wix's new AI agent platform, launched August 11, 2026. It gives your business a coordinated team of AI agents, led by an orchestrator called Maestro, that handle marketing, operations, and customer follow-up with your approval. There's a free tier, paid plans run $20–$100/month, and it works even if your site isn't on Wix.

Wix launched something this week that isn't a website tool at all, and that's the interesting part. Symphony by Wix is an AI agent platform for running the business: the follow-ups, the scheduling, the invoice chasing, the "did anyone answer that customer from Tuesday?" pile. Here at Wix Expert Studio, we've spent ten years building Wix websites (494 completed projects on our Marketplace profile as of this moment), so whenever Wix ships something this big, clients start asking us what it means for them. This post is our answer: what Symphony actually is, what it costs, what it does well, and whether your website still matters in a world where AI agents run the errands. (More than ever, it turns out.)



What exactly is Symphony by Wix?


Symphony by Wix is a standalone, multi-agent AI system for small and medium businesses, announced August 11, 2026. Instead of one chatbot, you get a coordinated team: a central agent called Maestro that understands your business and sets priorities, specialized agents that do the actual work, and a quality-review agent that checks everything before you see it.


"Standalone" is doing real work in that sentence. Per the press release, Symphony supports "any business whether they use Wix, another platform, or do not yet have a website." You don't need a Wix site to use it, which tells you how seriously Wix is treating this as its own product rather than a website add-on. Wix's COO Ronny Elkayam put the ambition plainly: "We built Symphony to be the go-to AI agent orchestrator for SMBs".


Under the hood sits what Wix calls the Genome, an intelligence layer built from patterns across the hundreds of millions of businesses that have run on Wix, spanning commerce, bookings, hospitality, and restaurants. That's an unique advantage Wix brings to this fight: twenty years of watching how small businesses actually operate. The agents even hold a daily meeting to review the state of your business and decide what matters today, then brief you on it. Yes, your AI staff has a standup now.


One boundary worth knowing up front: Symphony is not autonomous. Every significant action routes through you for approval before it happens. The agents propose; you approve.



What can the agents actually do?


The agent roster comes in three flavors, per Wix's own explainer: built-in agents covering core functions like customer communication, operations, and marketing; custom agents you configure around your own business rules; and external agents that connect third-party tools, with Shopify and Zendesk named at launch. They share context, so what one agent learns informs the others.


The launch examples Wix published give a feel for the range: a store owner whose agents diagnosed broken checkout flows, inventory problems, and payment configuration in one session; a restaurant that had its full menu structure and 58 item modifiers configured overnight; a service business that automated invoice chasing and repeat-customer discounts in a sitting. Those are Wix's own showcase stories, so apply the usual launch-day salt. But the category of work is clear. This is the administrative layer of running a business: monitoring, follow-up, configuration, and the small daily decisions that eat your evenings.


A few features stand out for busy owners. The Morning Brief summarizes what your agents handled overnight and what needs your attention. Proactive monitoring means agents surface problems without being asked, rather than waiting for you to notice the drop in orders. And the approval-gate design means the worst case for a bad suggestion is that you decline it.


What Symphony is not: a website builder, a design tool, or a replacement for human judgment. Wix says so directly, and the product's whole structure (propose → approve → execute) backs that up.



What does Symphony cost?


There's a free plan, and paid tiers are priced like software subscriptions rather than payroll. The launch pricing, per Wix's explainer:

Credits are the currency agents spend doing work, and month-to-month billing is available at higher rates. Launch-week pricing has a way of evolving, so treat the numbers as a snapshot and check symphony.wix.com for the current tiers.


The free plan is the sensible on-ramp. Fifty credits a day won't run your whole operation, but it will show you within a week whether the agents understand your business well enough to be worth $20.



Does Symphony replace your website (or your web designer)?


No. If anything, it makes the website matter more. Symphony's agents work off your business's actual data: your site, checkout, bookings, and product catalog. On Wix sites, it plugs into the back office, domains, payments, and checkout flows directly. An agent can only be as good as the structure it's working with. Garbage in, confidently organized garbage out.


There's a bigger shift behind this. In 2026, Wix has been rebuilding its platform around AI agents from both directions: Symphony puts agents to work for your business, while the Wix–Microsoft NLWeb integration announced in March makes your website readable by outside AI agents, so a customer's assistant can query your inventory and get a real answer. Your website is becoming the data source that every agent, yours and your customers', relies on. A clear site structure, accurate product data, and clean checkout flows have always been for the humans visiting you; now the machines helping those humans read the same things.


That's the honest version of "what does this mean for you": Symphony won't design your site, fix your mobile layout, or build your brand. It may well take the invoice-chasing off your plate. Different jobs.



Should your business try Symphony?


If you're the kind of owner drowning in follow-ups and small operational tasks, the free tier is worth an afternoon this month. Wix built Symphony for independent businesses (roughly solo operators up to ten or so employees), and the design reflects small-business reality: no technical setup, conversational interface, human approval on everything.


A few practical suggestions from us. Start with one painful workflow (unanswered inquiries or invoice follow-up) rather than handing over everything at once. Read the Morning Brief for a week before approving anything consequential; you'll learn quickly whether the agents' picture of your business is accurate. And remember that Wix itself says this is not a one-day transformation; the value compounds as the agents learn your patterns.
