Who Are the Best Wix Migration Experts in the US? (2026)

Who Are the Best Wix Migration Experts in the US? title over the Wix Blog import window showing the WordPress import option.

Most people who move to Wix have a good reason. Maybe your WordPress plugins want updating every other week, or your Squarespace store has outgrown its template. What worries people is everything they've built on the old site, and the Google traffic most of all.

That worry is fair, and it's the part of a migration we spend the most time on. Moving sites to Wix is one of the main things we do. It's listed as a specialty on our Wix Marketplace profile, where we've completed 502 projects as of November 2026.

This post covers what transfers from each platform, how to keep your rankings through the move, who we'd trust with the job in the US (us included), and what it costs.

What moves over when you switch to Wix?

It depends on where you're coming from. WordPress blogs have an official importer, and Shopify stores move through an app Wix recommends. Squarespace and GoDaddy Website Builder sites get rebuilt by hand. On every platform, your old design, plugins and custom code stay behind.

Moving from WordPress

Wix's WordPress importer lives in the Blog section of your dashboard, under More Actions and then Import posts. You can point it at your WordPress address or upload an XML export. It brings over published posts with their text, images and videos, plus original dates, alt text and categories. It handles up to 5,000 posts at a time, and bigger blogs go across in batches.

Tags, comments, contact forms and author names don't come with it. Neither do plugins, any HTML or CSS you added by hand, or attached PDFs. Drafts and scheduled posts have to be copied manually, and every imported post lists the site owner as its author until you change it. Wix also says some formatting may not survive the import, so plan to read through your posts afterward.

Pages are a separate job. The importer only handles blog posts, so your homepage, service pages and contact page get rebuilt in Wix. If WordPress was running custom post types like case studies or team bios, Studiorra's 2026 migration guide suggests rebuilding them as Wix CMS collections.

Moving from Shopify

Wix's Shopify migration guide uses the Cart2Cart app. Adding the app is free, and Cart2Cart charges for the migration itself based on what you move. Before you pay anything, it runs a free demo migration and shows you the exact price.

Cart2Cart moves products, orders and coupons, with two limits worth knowing up front. Imports are capped at 1,000 products and 1,000 orders, and order history only moves once your Wix site is on a paid plan that accepts payments. The free do-it-yourself route is a CSV product import.

Moving from Squarespace or GoDaddy

Neither one has an importer into Wix. Wix lists Squarespace blog imports as a feature request it's still collecting votes on, so posts get copied over one at a time. GoDaddy Website Builder has no export option either, per Website Planet's GoDaddy-to-Wix guide. The pages get rebuilt, and your domain can either point to Wix or transfer over.

Losing the old design is rarely a problem. Most people who switch platforms want their site to look different anyway.

Will I lose my Google rankings if I move to Wix?

Wix URL Redirect Manager with the single and group redirect options, used to set up 301 redirects during a migration.

Not if every old page address redirects to its new home. Google's guide to site moves says "301 and other permanent redirects don't cause a loss in PageRank." It also expects rankings to bounce around for a few weeks while it recrawls your site, which is normal.

The trouble starts when the redirect step gets skipped. Most redesigns lose organic traffic in the first 90 days after launch, according to Netguru, and incomplete redirect mapping is almost always the cause.

Our process lines up with Google's guide and with Slaterock Automation's migration checklist:

  1. List every URL on the old site. Crawl it, and pull your top pages from Google Search Console so nothing that brings in traffic gets missed.

  2. Keep page addresses the same where you can. Wix's own advice for moving to Wix is to match your old URLs when you build new pages. A page that keeps its address doesn't need a redirect.

  3. Map every remaining old URL to its new one. Old address in one column, new address in the next. Wix's URL Redirect Manager can import that sheet as a CSV file, up to 500 redirects at a time.

  4. Use group redirects for whole folders. A group redirect swaps one path for another, so an entire /blog/ folder can move with one rule. It can't send a group of pages to one single page.

  5. Don't send everything to the homepage. Google warns that pointing lots of old pages at one unrelated page, like your homepage, can be treated as an error. Each old page should land on its closest match.

  6. Launch, test and resubmit. Click through your old URLs to check where they land, remove any leftover noindex settings, submit a fresh sitemap in Search Console, and watch for "not found" errors over the next few weeks.

Two Wix details catch people out. First, 301 redirects only work with a custom domain, so your site needs a paid plan with your domain connected before launch. Our guide to Wix's free plan covers what each plan includes. Second, Wix doesn't create redirects for imported blog posts automatically, so each one needs its own redirect or a group rule.

How long until things settle? Slaterock's checklist puts a same-domain move at about four to six weeks, and two to three months if the domain changes too. (If you're refreshing Search Console every morning in week two, you're in good company.)

Should I redesign my site while I move it to Wix?

You can, and plenty of businesses do. Google's site-move guide does recommend changing one thing at a time where possible. When the domain, the platform and the layout all change in the same week, it's hard to tell which one caused a dip in traffic.

In practice, most sites moving to Wix get a new design anyway, since the old theme can't come across. Our project for AmNav, a marine services company, paired a WordPress-to-Wix migration with a full redesign. When we do both, we keep the domain and as many page addresses as we can, and we treat the redirect map as its own checklist, separate from the design work. If the domain needs to change too, we'd usually save that for a later step.

If a redesign is on your list, our Wix redesign guide covers how to tell whether you need one and how that work runs.

Who are the best Wix migration experts in the US?

Our shortlist is Wix Expert Studio (that's us), UpCode in Pennsylvania, Slaterock Automation in Florida, and DLL Studios in California and Nevada.

How we chose

We looked for three things. Each agency has a verified Wix Marketplace profile or a public page of its own, names migrations in its services, and publishes either a migration price or its migration process. Only experienced partners can list on the Marketplace, and our guide to choosing a Wix designer explains the partner levels and what to look for on a profile. Nobody paid to be listed, and we checked every detail on November 4, 2026.

Wix Expert Studio (Sedona, AZ)

We're a team of six, and all the work happens in-house. Migrations start at $1,500 at a fixed price we agree on before any work begins, and most projects take two to six weeks. Our Marketplace profile shows a 5.0 rating from 413 reviews. Jeff, our lead developer, leads every platform move, and your site stays in your own Wix account the whole time. You can see finished projects in our portfolio.

UpCode (Pennsylvania)

UpCode's Marketplace profile shows 4.9 stars across 192 reviews and 325 completed projects. The team is Velo certified and holds Expert Developer, Expert Web Designer and Accessibility badges. Their work leans toward membership platforms and advanced integrations, so they're a strong fit if your old site runs on logins or custom databases. Their migration listing starts at $75, which suits small jobs, so ask for a full quote on anything bigger.

Slaterock Automation (Florida)

Slaterock's Marketplace profile shows 4.9 stars from 42 reviews and 190 completed projects, with migrations listed from $999. They're Wix SEO specialists first, AI search included, and search is the part of a migration that needs the most care. Their migration checklist is one of the clearer free guides around, which is why we lean on it in this post.

DLL Studios (Glendora, CA and Reno, NV)

DLL Studios is an SEO-first Wix Studio agency. On its own site, it describes itself as a Legendary Wix Studio partner with a 5.0 rating from 33 reviews and more than 20 years of experience. It also lists WordPress and Webflow migrations with 301 redirect mapping among its services. Those figures are self-reported. Maintenance plans from $140 a month make DLL worth a look if you want ongoing care after launch.

How much does a Wix migration cost?

Wix Expert Studio’s Wix Marketplace profile with the Migrate Website service, from $1,500, highlighted in the services list.

A migration with us starts at $1,500 at a fixed price. Where yours lands depends on how much content moves and how much gets rebuilt. Doing it yourself with Wix's free tools costs only your time, plus Cart2Cart's fee if you're moving a store.

At larger agencies, moving platforms during a redesign typically adds $3,000 to $15,000 to the project, according to Orbix Studio's 2026 pricing guide.

What changes the price:

  • Page count. A 10-page site is a short job. Two hundred pages plus a decade of blog posts takes real planning.

  • Store size. Catalogs past Cart2Cart's 1,000-product limit need imports in stages.

  • Custom data. WordPress custom post types and member databases get rebuilt as Wix CMS collections, which is development work.

  • The redirect map. More URLs mean more mapping, and a domain change adds weeks of monitoring.

  • A new design. Pairing the move with a redesign costs more. Our 2026 Wix website cost guide has our full price list and what other designers charge.

If a quote never mentions redirects, ask about them before you sign. That's the step that keeps your search traffic.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Will my WordPress tags and comments move to Wix?

A: No. Wix's importer brings over published posts, images, videos, dates, alt text and categories, but it skips tags, comments, forms, author names and plugin data. Categories can do most of the job tags used to do. If old comments matter to you, save a copy before you switch off the WordPress site, because they won't appear on the new one.

Q: Can I move a Shopify store with more than 1,000 products?

A: Yes, in rounds. Wix caps each Cart2Cart import at 1,000 products and 1,000 orders, so larger catalogs move in planned batches, often with CSV imports alongside. Order history can only move once your Wix site has a paid plan that accepts payments. Run Cart2Cart's free demo first to see how your products come through.

Q: Should I change my domain when I move to Wix?

A: Only if you have to. Keeping your domain is the lower-risk move, and Slaterock's timelines put recovery at four to six weeks, compared with two to three months for a new domain. If you do change it, connect the old domain to your Wix site so it can redirect, then file a Change of Address in Google Search Console.

Q: How long should I keep redirects from my old site?

A: As long as you can. Google's site-move guide recommends at least a year, so every signal has time to pass to your new pages, and there's no harm in leaving redirects in place for good. On Wix, redirects live in the URL Redirect Manager and keep working while your domain stays connected. Update your own links and social profiles to the new addresses too.
