Humane Society of Sedona

The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization serving the Verde Valley since 1966. We are dedicated to a no-kill philosophy and to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond.

As a no-kill shelter, no healthy animal or animal with a treatable behavior or medical condition will ever by euthanized. We do not euthanize because of lack of space or as population control.

The Humane Society of Sedona relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.

Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue

PVDR works throughout the lower 48 & manages 5.5 million acres of wild donkey habitat. Peaceful Valley's Mission is to provide a safe and loving environment to all donkeys that have been abused, neglected or abandoned and wild burros under threat of destruction. Peaceful Valley strives to provide solutions to the many problems that plague these wonderful creatures by providing ethical stewardship over the funds that are necessary to fulfill this goal. Peaceful Valley, with its nationwide network of Ranch Facilities and Satellite Adoption Centers, is the country's leader in Rescue, Sanctuary, Adoption and Education.  Together, we can improve the Plight of the American Donkey.

International Hummingbird Society

The Hummingbird Society was created in 1996 as a nonprofit* organization to help people understand and appreciate hummingbirds and to provide a channel to help save the ones that are endangered. That sums it up well for the purpose of the Hummingbird Society's mission: teach people about hummingbirds, and they will understand them better; and from that understanding and caring, will come support for their protection.

You can do your part by becoming a member of the Hummingbird Society, for only $40 (tax-deductible, too), or by making a donation.

Audubon

Audubon protects birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow.

Across aisles. Across landscapes. Across borders. When it comes to our environment, birds are a uniting force. Birds cross borders, from neighborhoods to states and beyond, migrating tens of thousands of miles across multiple countries from one tip of the planet to the other. And so do we. Audubon's hemispheric approach recognizes that the majority of bird species in the Americas migrate annually between Canada, the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Audubon’s programs are like the birds—unencumbered by political boundaries and seamlessly integrated across the Western Hemisphere.

ASPCA

The ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) has been at the forefront of animal rescue and protection since our founding as the first animal welfare organization in North America in 1866. For more than 150 years, we have been the leading voice in animal welfare, bringing the critical protection of animals to the forefront of society.

We’ve led the way in fighting cruelty, rescuing and securing adoptions for animals in need, and driving significant legislative change that protects their lives and welfare — ultimately transforming how Americans value and care for animals.

The Oasis Sanctuary

Established in 1997, The Oasis Sanctuary is a unique avian rescue and life-care facility, dedicated to providing permanent care, shelter and rehabilitation for companion parrots for which other rehoming options do not exist. In particular we are a refuge for exotic birds such as parrots, cockatoos, macaws and other Psittacine birds – although we do accept Passerines (finches and canaries), Columbiformes (doves and “fancy” or racing pigeons) and other captive avian species.

Many of the birds in our care have “special needs”, little or no social skills or have suffered physical and/or emotional abuse resulting in undesirable psychological behaviors. The Oasis is often all that stands between life and death for these beautiful, sentient and endangered companion birds.
